You may or may not have heard of a really fancy-shmancy film that came out last week titled Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. This film just so happens to be based off of a really great comic by the same name. Someone at Ubisoft had the amazing idea to create a video game from this comic/movie, and if you have ever played any old-school beat-em-up of yore, you will feel right at home in this ninja kicking, hammer smashing brawler.

Two years ago this November I officially became part of the cool club when I bought an iPhone. As soon as I got it in the mail I knew that no one else was as cool as I. No one except all of those people who just bought an iPhone 3G. Months passed, and while I thoroughly enjoyed my high dollar Twitter machine, I could never get behind all of those claims that the little bugger was a game machine. Sure, I had my share of app games that were nothing more than shitty flash remakes (Bloons anyone? Hello.), but I could point directly to my DS and then point for not good reason at my bookshelf full of games. That was a gaming machine. That had “real” games on it.

Enter two weeks ago. I bought an iPhone 4, and with its superior POWER purchased Final Fantasy. This stupid phone might actually not be too bad…for certain types of games.

I have never been the biggest fan of the term “Indie games.” Not because the term doesn’t fit, but more-so because it always makes me think of Indiana Jones. Well, shoot, now I have to figure out how to tie Indiana Jones and Limbo together. Let’s just say that they are both great adventures in their own way: Indie is more about fun romps while shooting Nazis, Limbo is more a minimalistic mind-freak puzzler.

Other than your dignity, that is. At this point in time we have all accepted what it looks like to shake a remote vigorously in front of our TVs. By now it is all second nature. Until today, however, we really did not know how much our bank account would suffer to upgrade to the new, super higher deffed, no controller having Microsoft Kinect. Well if you have been standing in anticipation (because as of now the Kinect doesn’t really understand sitting) to learn how much games will cost for the device, then today is your day.
