Although Bungie has stepped away from the Halo franchise, they certainly haven’t stopped making games. Their upcoming title, Destiny, today got an official trailer, directed by John Favreau and narrated by Monkeybone star Giancarlo Esposito who reads from Kipling’s The Jungle Book. Destiny is about space shooting or some such, and this trailer is entitled: “The Law of the Jungle.”

The video’s description:

As a Guardian of the City sets out on an epic, action-packed adventure to reclaim our Solar System, he recalls the moment when he was first taught the most important lesson of all — The Law of the Jungle.

Watch this live-action/CG trailer and get a sneak peek at Destiny, the bold, new action game from the creators of Halo® and the company that brought you Call of Duty®.

For the uninitiated, the story goes something like this: A giant, white, orb from space called “The Traveler” came down to human colonies and allowed them to travel through space further than before. After “The Collapse,” an event that wiped out all but one of the human colonies, you are a “Guardian of the City,” one whose job it is to protect the last remaining human colony and the Traveler. Now, aliens have come to just mess up everything, and it is up to you and your crew to make sure nothing happens to humanity.

As you can see from the video, there will be different classes (and races) at which to choose from and they will all have varying skill-sets. The three classes are Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans, and I am pretty sure you can figure out what they do based on their names.

Actual gameplay for Destiny is going to be shown during Sony’s E3 keynote on June 10th, so for the next couple of weeks you’ll just have to content yourself with this video. So far the game is planned to release on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
