After two outings in the world of Dragon Age, Bioware is ready to let loose a few details on the next title in the series: Dragon Age III: Inquisition. I am pretty sure this game will be all about forcing dragons to sit in the comfy chair. NOBODY EXPECTS THE DRAGON INQUISITION!

In the post detailing the new title, Bioware vet Mark essentially discusses that the Dragon Age III has been in development for some years now and that they would love to show off more, but now is not the time. If you are a fan, though, hearing any news about DAIII is good news. Here are the things that the post did confirm:

  • The next game will be called Dragon Age III: Inquisition.
  • We won´t be talking about the story of the game today. Though you can make some guesses from the title.
  • This game is being made by a lot of the same team that has been working on Dragon Age since Dragon Age: Origins. It´s composed of both experienced BioWare veterans and talented new developers.
  • We are working on a new engine which we believe will allow us to deliver a more expansive world, better visuals, more reactivity to player choices, and more customization. At PAX East, we talked about armour and followers… Yeah, that kind of customisation. We´ve started with Frostbite 2 from DICE as a foundation to accomplish this.

These mostly serve to whet the appetite of fans wanting to hear more, and hopefully it won’t be too long before that happens.

Are you excited for more dragoning?
