Fighting dragons is hard, and your terrible house you received for being the thane of Whiterun just isn’t cutting it anymore. Maybe you should move out into the countryside where you will have all the room you want to build a nice house and also be right in the path of mammoths and giants? That’s a great idea! And now you can do that in Hearthfire, Skyrim’s new DLC.

For all of you looking for straw: Apparently, straw can be found in shops. Try checking the miscellaneous goods in shops. As I understand it, Riverwood can have a good stock of straw for sale.

This $5 DLC will allow you to buy a deed for some land and begin creating your dream home. The workbench now has plans for making tons of items to fill your new house, and you can bring your spouse, kids, and bard to liven the place up. Basically, if you are too ashamed that someone might find out that you really like The Simes, this is the DLC for you.

Create a living home.

With this official add-on to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, you can purchase land and build your own home from the ground up – from a simple one-room cottage to a sprawling compound complete with an armory, alchemy laboratory, stable, garden, and more. Use all-new tools like the drafting table and carpenter’s workbench to transform quarried stone, clay, and sawn logs into structures and furnishings. Even transform your house into a home by adopting children.

Hearthfire, the next official game add-on for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, will be available for download for 400 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVEĀ® on September 4.

This description from the Youtube page for the video (and the video itself) only mentions the Xbox for this stuff, but surely it will come to the PS3 and PC soon.
