We have been through sever iterations of films and novels being LEGO-ized into a series of games. From Star Wars to Indiana Jones to Batman, these games have all been pretty fun, and they all shared one thing: no one talked. That’s all about to change with LEGO Lord of the Rings, and it’s weird.

Normally, the characters in these games would pantomime what they wanted to say, and it was on the whole pretty hilarious. It will be odd to have them simply speak, as that takes away a big portion of the humor. In this trailer, the “funny” bit was that the balrog had bad breath. Had I constructed the scene, Gandalf probably would have held up a Stop sign, then a people crossing sign with a circle and a line through it, then slamming the old magic cane on the bridge act. But that’s just me. Maybe they going for a bit more gravitas in this one than normal. I guess that will be ok.
Supposedly, this game hits shelves in October, so watch out.
