Today we were listed on the official site of Child’s Play on their Events page. That’s very exciting! Thanks go to Kristin Lindsay, Project Manager for Child’s Play, for helping us get listed!

And we’re now officially up to $101 donated even before we start! Thank you to everyone who has already contributed!

It’s less than one week until the show goes live and we are getting the last few things ready. Remember to tune in on Friday, Dec. 18th at 8pm CST!

I have to admit that I’m not usually a jittery person, but I find myself checking the website a million times a day. Scrutinizing over every minute pixel and alignment. I’m sure glad that Garret has the patience of a turtle to put up with all my comments!

I’ve noticed yet another $10.00 donation before the event even started. Seriously, thanks a ton everyone! I’m sure the folks at Child’s Play will love your contribution. Each and every dollar justifies all the hours of hard work we’ve put into the event so far!

Speaking of Child’s Play…

Garret and I have been ‘putting our name out there’ to generate more numbers for the overall event. Exciting stuff, however I can’t begin to describe the embarrassment and humility I feel when I try to send an actual ‘formal’ email to some of my favorite websites asking for a bit of exposure. We’ll see the fruits of that labor soon enough!

This just in, but we’ve been listed on GameMarathons.com! Let’s all give thanks for them helping us spread the word on our event. GameMarathons is a great place to see all upcoming marathons from around the world, check ‘em out!

An amazing thing has happened, folks. In just one day since putting up the donation widget, we’ve had three donations for a grand total of $36. That’s great! Thanks all who have jumped the gun and donated so far, two full weeks early!

If this keeps up we might have to adjust our goals for making Joe eat crazy Asian crab candy. We had scheduled for that to be at the $100 mark, but we’ll see.

Ninja Edit: $41! At this rate we’ll not even need to do the marathon (but we still will, because it’s going to be awesome.)

Added to the page today was a widget provided by Chipin.com that will essentially run all of our donations. It’s totally secure, using either Paypal or credit card for donations. We have it set up right now to donate directly to Child’s Play, none of the money gets even close to our hands, so you can be sure that all donations get to their intended recipients.

The service is currently running and ready to go. If for some reason you feel like donating right now instead of waiting, by all means go for it. What we have not fully settled on is the target amount, so if you see that number change then it’s only because we’re tweaking and editing things. In fact, we may actually change the amount as we go, to reflect milestones in amounts. For example, we might set the first goal to be $100, then if we hit that, we adjust the amount up to the next milestone of $250, etc. But only after doing something fun for hitting the $100 mark. There will be more information on that later.
