Stats So Far

So the results are in. Actually, I’m looking at the numbers a tad bit early, but we have a fairly round number as of today, so it looks all pretty. Anyhow, what I’m talking about is hits to the site. Recorded via Google Analytics, Since October 11th through today, we’ve had a total of 403 visits to the site, with 129 uniques. I’m pretty excited about that, actually. It’s been less than a month and it looks like we’ve managed to grab a good following.

Papercraftin’
by Dan in Misc on November 3, 2009
I was in an origami kind of mood a few days ago and thought, “Why not find some Mario themed origami?” Well, the “why not” is there’s not much to be found of Mario origami. There is however plenty of papercraft Nintendo stuff.
Check out http://www.cubeecraft.com and search Nintendo to find models of the original NES, the NES controller, and other game systems and characters.
For something slightly harder, go to http://nerd-craft.blogspot.com. Here you will find various dioramas of Mario levels, such as 1-1 (beginning and end) and 7-3.
An Exacto knife would be useful (even though you can get by with a pair of scissors) as well as some card stock paper. It’s thicker than normal printer paper, which is very useful in the dioramas.

A Couple of New Things
by Garret in Misc on November 2, 2009
We’ve made some updates to the site, if you haven’t noticed. They’re fairly small, but every Lego you put in a Lego castle is small until you get a GIANT LEGO CASTLE.
Anyhow, recently we’ve added some content to the About page. We currently plan on roughly seven or eight people to be actual players during the event. The number, of course, is subject to change, but that is what we’re planning on. We’re hoping that we’ll always have some fresh blood up and ready to go through those 72 hours of craziness.
Additionally, and this is even more minor, but we’ve added some RSS, Facebook, and Twitter buttons to the sidebar. Since Twitter just released Lists, it’s super easy to bring together all of the group who has Twitter accounts into one place. Once Twitter decides to get RSS feeds working for those lists, we’ll have the updates show up here in all their glory.
So that’s about it, and one final thing before I go: Amazon is currently giving away a $10 coupon for preorders of New Super Mario Bros. Wii! Grab yours before the offer goes away (because it could jump ship at any time!).
