Desert Bus For Hope
by Garret in Charity News on November 30, 2009

We may or may not be a gaming centered charity marathon site. Well, actually, that’s exactly what we are. We’re all about putting in hard work (read: play games) for the greater good. But we don’t want to sit here and not share stories about others who do the same thing, who shed blood, sweat, and tears to put a smile on another’s face.
Last week the folks at LoadingReadyRun.com completed the third annual Desert Bus for Hope event, raising more money than you will ever see in your lifetime (or maybe not).

360 : FB :: PS3 : FB
by Garret in Gaming News on November 18, 2009
Hot on the heels of yesterday’s 360 update, Sony’s network operations director Eric Lempel told 1up that the Playstation 3 will also get Facebook integration soon. How soon, you ask? How about TODAY.
“I’ll just say that it’s been in the works for quite some time,” he said in an interview with 1UP.
“It’s never been easy to just integrate new content into the PlayStation Network. We’ve had this planned for a while now.”
Whether or not they actually had “planned it for a while” or if they’re just trying to steal away some of Microsoft’s thunder is anyone’s guess, but they are taking a slightly different approach to the whole matter.

Facebook on Consoles?!
by Garret in Games on November 17, 2009

Remember kids, today marks the day when you too can spend hours typing out one Facebook or Twitter message on your Xbox 360! Like all Xbox updates, when you start your console today you’ll be greeted with an automatic update that you can’t not get. From the official Xbox website:
Facebook and Xbox LIVE join forces to connect you with your friends on the largest entertainment and gaming network on TV and the largest social site on the Web. Share real-time status updates and photos with your friends, as well as your favorite gaming moments from your television to Facebook.
Take bragging rights to a completely new level by sharing updates to Facebook on your achievements and success in upcoming games available on Xbox 360.
So gird your loins, people, for now it’ll be easier than ever to let your friends know that you spend more time than you really ought to shooting twelve year olds in Modern Warfare 2 (trust me, it happens).
But that’s not all, with this update comes a few other, more interesting things as well.

by Garret in Games on November 16, 2009

In case you forgot, New Super Mario Bros. Wii is out on store shelves as of right now. RIGHT NOW, PEOPLE. We can’t help you if Nintendo runs out of copies and you don’t get one (that will never happen).
We wrote briefly before on the subject, so check that out if you want more information and/or snarky comments.
And if you’re STILL not convinced, check out this awesome of video of stuff you’ll never be able to do:

FFXIII Release Date
by Garret in Games on November 13, 2009

Good news for all you RPG nerds out there (like me!). Today Square Enix announced the North American and European release date for Final Fantasy XIII. Turns out we’ll have to wait until March 3rd, 2010 to play this super shiny game.
Personally, I’m hoping for a return of FFXII’s government-focused type story, but I know it will not be the case. They have already said that it will be about “emotions” and “relationships.” Oh well, I can handle that so long as it’s at least interesting (I beat FFVIII for crying out loud).
Along with just that cursory information, Square Enix has released a new video hosted by very dapper young man (in a suit even!).
